At the Hudson Law Office, we understand that getting your
car fixed after an automobile accident can be frustrating and time
consuming. We handle all aspects of property damage for our clients.
REMEMBER, THE INSURANCE COMPANY WANTS TO PAY AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE
FOR YOUR DAMAGE.
If your car has been damaged in an automobile accident, you will
either have a claim against your own insurance carrier, under the
collision coverage, or a claim against the owner or driver of the
car that caused the accident. If you have collision coverage and the
owner or driver of the car that struck was at fault than you have a
choice against whom you can make a claim.
How do I get paid for my damage?. Usually, the Insurance company
will instruct you to take your car to an appraiser. More often than
not, the appraiser will work for the Insurance company and tend to
minimize the cost of repair.
What can I do? First, take pictures of the damage. Second, get your
own estimate. Unfortunately, the playing field is not even. The
Insurance Company has all the time in the world. Their obligation is
to pay reasonable cost of repair or pre-accident value. They hold
the money! And the longer it takes, the longer they keep the
money. At The Hudson Law Office we try to even the playing field for
you!
